Mogadischu was an existential incident, not only for those who were directly affected, but for the entire German Republic. The suspense between the occurrences in the Lufthansa aircraft and their political aftermath are portrayed in a sensitive and sophisticated manner. The screenplay, director and actors have all made a perfect contribution to create the TV event of the year. In addition to the obvious tension, which is conveyed magnificently, above all it is the key issues that grip the viewers. The drama of the decision-making process that occurs in a politically extreme situation is presented absolutely authentically. That makes "Mogadischu" not only a thrilling piece of television, but a lesson in the meaning of democracy.
