Caren Miosga was born in Peine, Lower Saxony and is a resident of Hamburg since 1989. Here, she studied history and Slavic studies. During her studies, she worked as a tour guide in Moscow and St. Petersburg and broadcast out of Russia as a radio reporter. Her previous assignments include working as a reporter, editor and anchorwoman at R.SH, Radio Hamburg, N-Joy-Radio and RTL North.

Since 1999, Caren Miosga works at NDR – as a film author and show host of the cultural program NDR-KulturJournals (1999-2007) and for the media magazine program "Zapp" (2003 - 2005). In May 2006 she was appointed the cultural presence of the ARD broadcasting station and presented the weekly program "titel thesen temperamente" (titles theories temperaments) on Channel 1. Since July 2007, she is the anchorwoman for the news program Tagesthemen, alternating with her colleague Tom Buhrow.
